A Tournament Team
General Information
Tournament teams are registered with MSYSA for the sole purpose of participating in a tournament. They can be created for a variety of reasons such as allowing a group of friends to play together in a tournament, or to assist a team that needs more guest players allowed by the tournament.
Tournament teams not currently playing in leagues may register a standard league roster and select “MDPL” (Maryland Premier League) as their league.
Team Officials of tournament teams must still meet the minimum requirements of league teams. This includes coaching education and risk management.
Residency
Maryland resident players that are approved on MSYSA travel teams, on travel teams with other state associations, or as Guest Players are eligible for play on a tournament team.
Players from other states that are on an approved MSYSA team are eligible, but must receive permission from their home state association.
Player Documentation
Players rostered with their state association on an approved travel team must borrow the USYS Member Pass from their team for tournament use.
All players must also submit a Medical Release Form to be kept on file by Team Officials.
