What is C4C?
Good coaches can improve the lives of players, the culture of clubs, and the strength of communities. Great coaches can develop the next generation of world-class players who inspire a nation.
In the United States, many coaches do not have access to adequate training. Young players from underserved communities especially miss the opportunity to learn and grow from a licensed and educated coach.
U.S. Soccer’s Coach for Community is a special program providing FREE education and resources to coaches, with an emphasis on reaching new coaches in underserved communities across America. In partnership with MSYSA, Coach for Community delivers in-person learning sessions and access to online grassroots licenses – at no cost to participating coaches!
ARE YOU READY to host a free Coach for Community event to give your volunteer coaches the tools they need to create better player centered soccer environments?
How to Host C4C
ARE YOU READY to host a free Coach for Community event to give your volunteer coaches the tools they need to create better player-centered soccer environments?
GENERAL INFORMATION:
- Format
- The course will take 2 hours: 1-hour field session and 1-hour lecture
- Coach for Community is an abbreviated version of a GRIP course. Goes over the PPP methodology but the session is run by instructors instead of candidates. Also, has more info about the benefits of coach education rather than just jumping straight into why kids play soccer. It’s also a 2-hour course vs a 4-hour course. Slightly more lecture style than a fully engaged, candidate-driven GRIP course.
- Participants
- Minimum: 6 coaches
- Maximum: 50 coaches
- Marketing/Promotion
- MSYSA will provide multiple materials to assist with promoting the C4C event via email, website, and social media.
- You’ll receive a PDF that will contain multiple sources of information (see below):
- A basic template that can be sent to anybody (even those outside your organization to promote the event)
- Instructions on how to register
- Pre-event reminder instructions will be sent to all coaches who have already registered for the event (or as a last-minute reminder to all of your own coaches who haven’t registered yet!)
