The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

Team Submission & Approval Requirements



When submitting  travel teams for approval to receive player cards and team rosters, the following requirements MUST BE MET in their entirety!


ALL travel teams must meet all player age ID and coach/team official mandatory compliance requirements in order to be eligible to be approved to play in a sanctioned USYS competition (league or tournament)


  • All players must be registered with their club. Unique registration link provided by the club directly.
  • All players must be age ID verified with an acceptable proof of age document. Specific details here:
  • All players must upload an acceptable player photo.
  • All players must have completed a COVID-19 waiver in addition to a USYS Medical Release form. Both documents are completed during the player registration process.
  • All players must have a jersey number
  • Any player who is 18 years old and older must also complete the SafeSport training, which is accessible in the dashboard of the player’s GotSport account dashboard.


  • ALL coaches and team officials must complete a coach registration. Unique registration link provided by the club directly.
  • ALL coaches/team officials over the age of 18 MUST complete SafeSport training or the annual refresher course (completed within the coach profile/dashboard in GotSport). Instructions here:
  • ALL coaches and team officials must complete CDC Concussion Training course (completed within the coach profile/dashboard in GotSport). Instructions here:
    • Please note: UPLOADED certificates from previous CDC training will NOT be accepted!
  • ALL coaches/team officials MUST have a completed background check. Instructions here:
  • All coaches/team officials must upload an acceptable photo.
  • Head Coach ONLY - a copy of the current coaching license must be uploaded to your coach profile in GotSport under the Documents Tab on the left hand side. Click "New Document", then select "Coaching License - Maryland State Youth Soccer Association" in the drop down list, then select "please upload your Coaching License" in the document label dropdown.
    • Any Travel Head Coach registering MUST meet ONE of these minimum license requirements:
      • EITHER - USSF 'E' or higher (D, C, B, A, Pro) License
      • OR - Grassroots Licensing (all three needed):
        1. Introduction to Grassroots Module +
        2. Two in-person Grassroots courses (one must be the 11v11 and the other can be any of the other 9v9, 7v7 or 4v4 courses) +
        3. One online Grassroots Module across any of the four game models (11v11, 9v9, 7v7, 4v4)

  1. Once ALL the above player, coach/team official verifications have been completed, your team may be submitted to MSYSA for approval to get player passes and official team rosters.
  2. Teams missing ANY item from above will NOT be approved


TIMELINES FOR APPROVALThe following timelines must be adhered to for ALL team submissions.

  1. MSYSA business hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  2. Teams submitted for approval MUST be submitted THREE BUSINESS DAYS prior to when your teams need their player passes (i.e – if you have a tournament on Saturday, your teams should be submitted PRIOR TO 4:30 PM on Wednesday of that same week)
  3. Team submissions that do not follow the above timelines and requirements WILL NOT be processed.
  4. Affiliates must be in good standing and current on fees to receive a Roster Approval

Ensuring the safe return to play of all our players and coaches is our highest priority and following this process ensures that we meet all federal laws, U.S. Soccer mandatory member requirements and our own Risk Management program in providing the safest environment possible.
