The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

How to Host a Tournament

Below are the forms required to sanction a tournament in Maryland!

  • All tournaments requiring sanctioning must fill out ALL of the forms in the "All Tournaments" section.
  • If your tournament plans on accepting International Teams, you must fill out additional forms located in the "Tournaments with International Teams" section.

Please read the requirements listed in the Tournament and Games Policies.  If you have any additional questions, please contact the Tournament Administrator

The "Designated Official of Hosting Organization" must be the current President of the hosting organization.

Effective immediately, tournaments looking to be sanctioned by MSYSA must include language similar to the following within their competition rules:

"Team officials are responsible for the behavior of the spectators. Team officials can be disciplined by the referee for failure to control their spectators. The competition authority has the ability to ban a spectator, forfeit a match, or expel a team from the competition for violations or abuse of a referee or the referee crew."

Tournaments with International Teams

Currently, the United States is still under a Level 4 Global Travel Advisory, which means that the State Department has advised that all international travel should be avoided. As such, while that Level 4 advisory remains in place, we are not in a position to approve any applications to host foreign teams or for domestic teams to travel internationally.

Once that travel advisory is reduced, we will begin to consider applications again and will likely have additional requirements in order to address the COVID-19 pandemic. Once that information is confirmed, we will send to all members and then update the website.

Any tournament looking to accept foreign teams needs to also complete the following forms and be familiar with the specific US Soccer rules. Submit the completed forms to MSYSA along with the above documents and MSYSA will review, sign off where required and return to you. Once received you will need to submit to US Soccer along with payment in the amount of $75. US Soccer requires the forms a minimum of 30 days prior to the event.

All forms should be scanned and submitted to the Tournament Administrator. Payment may be made by check payable to MSYSA, and mailed to:

3060 Route 97, Ste 178
Glenwood, MD 21738
