Three Maryland Youth Soccer Players Win “Golden” National Awards

FRI, Aug. 3, Glen Burnie, MD – Three Maryland youth soccer players earned prestigious national awards after competing in the 2018 US Youth Soccer National Championships in Frisco, Texas, last weekend.

Pipeline Soccer Club Pre-Academy’s 13U Finley Lavin and Baltimore Celtic Soccer Club’s 18U Justin Gielen were each awarded the Golden Ball Award for their respective age groups.

Baltimore Celtic Christo’s 19U goalkeeper Quantrell Jones earned the Golden Glove award for his age group.

“The Golden Ball and Glove were first awarded in 1998 to the players in each division who have the greatest competitive impact in the National Championships, and has featured winners such as Robbie Findley, Jonathan Bornstein, Freddy Adu, Jordan Morris, Lindsey Tarpley, Christen Press and Emily Sonnett,” US Youth Soccer’s official press release states.
