3/25 12:30pm Update:
US Youth Soccer have announced that they have canceled the Regional ODP Championship Tournament originally scheduled for June 5-7, 2020 and the Finals scheduled for June 19-21, 2020. While disappointing news, please note that this cancelation will not directly impact the Maryland State program this Spring either financially (not included in the program fees) or for our planning purposes.
We will continue to update our website and keep you informed regarding “return to play” protocols as soon as we are able. Our main focus at this time is the safety and health of all our soccer families and friends. As soon as we have a definitive answer for getting back on the field for ODP, we will share another program wide update including any potential financial impacts as well as any changes to the training schedule.
Each year Maryland ODP teams participate in the East Region ODP Tournament on a weekend in June (see the calendar on our website for up to date information). This event is hosted by US Youth Soccer's East Region and draws ODP teams from multiple states across our Region as well as College coaches from all across the Nation.
The goal of this event is to help players come together in a competitive environment against strong competition from other States. This is the culmination of months of work and preparation and allows the players to showcase their individual and team abilities to the East Region Staff and College Coaches in attendance.
Only invited players from participating age groups will travel to this event and play (Participating age groups: Boys 12U-17U, Girls 12U-17U). Fees for event participation and travel are not included in the overall program cost.
Hotel links for the 2020 year will be posted below early in May.
Using these hotel accommodations is encouraged but not mandatory - these hotels have simply been reserved as a service for families who will travel with their players to this event.
All age groups should be prepared for a Friday night game.
Only invited players in each pool will participate. Age groups with multiple teams will be sorted by the staff into ranked rosters with consideration for positional needs (18 players 13U-17U, 15 players 12U per team). Rosters will be posted in early May and are subject to change.
Schedule links will appear here 7-10 days before the event.
