Nike Partners with MSYSA to Continue Growing the Game of Soccer!

GLENWOOD, MD (March 31, 2021): The Maryland State Youth Soccer Association (MSYSA) has entered into a strategic partnership with Nike. This partnership will further grow the game of soccer within Maryland and the District of Columbia by providing access to quality apparel and equipment in addition to infusing hundreds of thousands of dollars of value over the term of the agreement.

“Our partnership with Nike is one of the first of its kind and we could not be more proud” said MSYSA President Mark Cantor. “MSYSA is fully committed to growing the game of soccer and our partnership with Nike is going to be a great help as we move forward.”

Founded in 1964 and headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon, Nike is a leader in the soccer apparel and merchandize landscape not only in America, but across the entire world. Nike’s North America Soccer Specialty Sr. Partner Representative, Mike Surber said, “We are extremely excited to partner with the Maryland State Youth Soccer Association. This partnership with MSYSA demonstrates Nike’s commitment to the game of soccer. It will provide more opportunities for soccer players to participate but also reinforces Nike’s leadership in grassroots soccer to help grow the game beyond where it stands today. As the partnership will strengthen over time, Nike’s continuing support will be key in the growth of the game and the soccer community throughout Maryland.”

MSYSA Executive Director Greg Smith said, “Partnering with Nike is a wonderful opportunity for MSYSA and our amazing affiliates to continue growing the beautiful game of soccer within Maryland and DC.” He went on to say, “Nike is a major player within the soccer landscape, and we are very much looking forward to working together.”
