MSYSA Partners with Abuse Prevention!

Maryland State Youth Soccer Association Partners with Abuse Prevention Systems

Glen Burnie, MD – March 8, 2017 – US Youth Soccer has partnered with Abuse Prevention Systems (APS) to provide a sexual abuse awareness training program for all National State Associations (NSA’s). The Maryland State Youth Soccer Association (MSYSA) is a NSA and has built upon this partnership to make the access available to all affiliate member organizations. This added member benefit provides each affiliate member organization with access to sport-specific awareness training while allowing for the ability to track and renew the trainings through an online control panel.

“This partnership comes at a critical time and the MSYSA leadership is proud to be able to take yet another step towards making the sport of soccer a safer place for all those who play.” said MSYSA Executive Director, Greg Smith, Ph.D.

APS will set up an online control panel for each MSYSA affiliate member organization and they will help designated organization administrative representatives to import staff and volunteers associated with its respective youth soccer programs and activities.

Mark Cantor, MSYSA President, went on to say that “Sexual abuse prevention is an important topic and I thank US Youth Soccer for creating this partnership and for the ability for MSYSA to make slight adjustments to the partnership for the benefit of our affiliate member organizations.”
