UPDATE on Expanded Roster: US Youth Soccer has extended the 22-player roster to include the U-16 age group for Cup competition in 2008-09. MSYSA sanctioned leagues may offer the expanded roster starting with the 2008 Fall season. The requirement to submit to League Officials a game roster consisting of no more than 18 players from the approved team roster applies wherever the expanded roster is adopted.
For Cup Competition: Teams that can roster up to 22 players must demonstrate continuity of rosters between the league and National Championships competitions by maintaining a minimum of 11 players common to the roster of both competitions
Clubs and Coaches: Please remember that U-12 teams will play small sided (8 v 8) starting with the 2008-09 Seasonal Year, and will be limited to 14 players on the roster. Teams that were U-11 in 2007-08 played under these requirements, so there will be no change for them as they move up to U-12 in the coming year.
