Taking the E-Online is easy:
1.) Each candidate must identify and register for a scheduled “E” Course field session
2.) Once the MSYSA office has received the candidate’s completed registration application and payment, the candidate will receive an email confirmation
3.) Each candidate will be asked to download the following:
a.) “E” Manual
b.) “Laws of the Game”
c.) PDF Presentations
d.) Test
The Online Session:
The “E” manual and the “Laws of the Game” will be the candidate’s textbooks and primary resources for the course. The online portion of the course has been broken into different chapters. In order to fully benefit from the E-Online Course, you may want to view the course over several nights and fully explore all of the material related to the topic in the chapter. The individual chapters will cover the following topics: Methods of Coaching, Team Management, Laws of the Game, Prevention and Care, and Principles of Play and Tactics.
The Field Session:
The second part of the “E” course is the full day on the field where the following field sessions will be covered: Defending, Attacking, Passing & Receiving, Dribbling, Goalkeeping, Shooting and Heading. Although the schedule is based on the facility, a typical day starts at 8am and ends at 5:30pm. At the completion of the course, the instructor will review the candidate’s test and turn the information in the MSYSA office. Within two weeks, the candidate’s certificate will be sent by mail.
What needs to be turned in on the day of the field session?
The candidate must turn in the following completed chapter tests: Prevention and Care, Methods of Coaching, Principles of Play and Tactics, Team Management, and Laws of the Game, along with the field session lesson plan. ALL completed tests must be turned in BEFORE a candidate can attend their previously scheduled field session. (No candidate will be permitted to attend the field sessions without submitting the test to the instructor during the roll call portion of the day.) Due to the coach to candidate scheduling ratio, once you have reserved your field session date you will be expected to attend that particular date. Should a candidate be deemed a “no show” for their scheduled field session, a $25 re-scheduling fee will need to be paid prior to another date being reserved. No tests will be accepted by mail.)
