Description of the "E" Course
The “E” Certificate is designed for the parent/coach who may or may not have any previous soccer playing or coaching experience. The curriculum focuses on the development of the player, both individually and as part of the team. The emphasis will be to build on the player’s technical development by applying tactical concepts within a team environment. This course is also preparatory for the “D” course. The candidate should be 18 years of age or older. Objectives:
· To prepare coaches working with players U-12 and older by expanding their knowledge and understanding of the technical and tactical demands of the game and the development process necessary for players these ages. · This is a general certificate for coaches working with beginning players or players participating in 11v 11 soccer for the first time. · To provide an understanding of practical coaching methodology and the framework necessary to prepare players and a team for competition. · To prepare coaches for whom this represents their final coaching course, as well as, those who plan to continue to further their coaching education. Duration: 18 hours
Curriculum:
Classroom / Theory
· Methods of Coaching, Team Management, Tactics, Laws of the Game, and Care and Prevention of Injuries. Field / Practical
· Dribbling, Passing, Receiving, Shooting, Heading, Goalkeeping, Defending, and Attacking. Comprehensive Assessment & Review
· Practice Coaching and a non-graded take home exam on tactics and methods. · All exams are due at the end of the course. · Attendance at all 18 hours is mandatory.
About 4 weeks after the conclusion of the course each candidate will receive his or her E certificate. Age requirements:
The candidate should be at least 18 years of age. Applicants:
The minimum number of candidates is 16. The maximum number of candidates is determined by the size of the facility. The number of candidates is set one week before the course begins. No walk up applications will be accepted. There are no prerequisites for the E course. Fee:
· $85 per candidate for coaches of MSYSA teams, $100 for non-MSYSA members. Each candidates will receive a course manual. Pre-requisite: None

Friday - 6pm - 9pm | Saturday - 8:00am - 5:00pm
Sunday - 8:00am - 2:00pm
